A new Minor in Biology will be available starting in fall 2017. The minor requires fifteen hours of upper division biology courses including genetics, ecology and evolution, and eight hours of upper division biology electives.
The Valdosta State Difference
This minor has a strong base in genetics and genetic applications in ecology and evolution. It is particularly suited for 21st Century biology.
What You'll Learn
Classical genetics, the genetics of ecology and evolution, ecological principles.
- BIOL 3200 – Genetics (3 credits)
- BIOL 3250 – Ecology and Evolution (4 credits)
- 8 hours of any upper-level biology courses excluding BIOL 4830, BIOL 4840, BIOL 4850, BIOL 4900
At least 9 hours must be completed at VSU. All biology courses require a grade of “C” or better.
